Procurement Engineer – Infrastructure
Position Overview:
Are you an experienced procurement professional with a background in engineering or construction? We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist to manage procurement processes for our engineering and construction projects in Dubai. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while working within a dynamic team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Procurement Processes: Oversee the procurement activities for various engineering and construction projects, ensuring that all processes are handled efficiently and effectively. This involves coordinating and managing the procurement lifecycle from requisition to delivery.
- Sourcing and Negotiation: Identify and engage with suppliers to secure the best quality materials at the most cost-effective rates. Your strong negotiation skills will be crucial in achieving favorable terms and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Vendor Evaluation: Regularly assess the performance of vendors to ensure they meet our quality and delivery standards. Address any issues related to vendor performance to ensure uninterrupted project progress.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and construction teams, to align procurement activities with project requirements and deadlines.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company standards, policies, and relevant regulations. Maintain adherence to industry best practices and legal requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of procurement experience is essential, preferably within the engineering or construction infrastructure sectors. Proven experience in managing procurement for complex projects will be highly valued.
- Skills: Strong negotiation skills, effective vendor management, and excellent communication abilities are crucial. Proficiency in ERP and procurement software is necessary to manage and streamline procurement processes.
- Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of construction materials and processes is required to make informed decisions and ensure that procurement activities align with technical specifications and project needs.
