IDC Reports Tablet Market Recovery with Apple Leading the Charge In the April-June period, global tablet shipments reached 34.4 million units, marking a 22.1% increase year-over-year. This level of shipments mirrors pre-pandemic figures, indicating a robust recovery in tablet demand.

In Q2, Apple shipped 12.3 million iPads, boosting its market share to 35.8%. The release of the new 11” and 13” iPad Air and iPad Pro models contributed to Apple’s global market share increase. However, Apple faced challenges in China due to strong competition from local brands such as Huawei and Xiaomi.

Samsung secured the second spot with 6.9 million tablet shipments, capturing a 20.1% market share. Lenovo followed in third place with 2.5 million shipments and a 7.3% market share. Huawei shipped 2.3 million tablets, achieving a 6.8% market share, driven by robust demand for its latest MatePad series.

Xiaomi rounded out the top five, delivering 2 million tablets and holding a 5.8% market share. Xiaomi achieved the highest year-over-year growth at 94.7%, with notable gains in several European markets.
