Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for a creative professional with a strong background in high-end hospitality and resort projects. As a Senior Interior Designer, you will lead and manage design projects from concept through to completion, working closely with investors, architects, and contractors to bring our ambitious vision to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Take charge of the interior design process for hospitality and resort projects, overseeing everything from the initial concept development to the final installation.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their vision, needs, and preferences, translating these into innovative and functional design solutions.
- Design Development: Create and present detailed renders, design concepts, mood boards, space plans, and selections for furniture and materials.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive drawings, specifications, and documentation required for construction and procurement processes.
- Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, architects, contractors, and other consultants to ensure the seamless integration of all design elements.
- Project Management: Monitor project timelines, budgets, and schedules, ensuring that all aspects of the project are delivered on time and within budget.
- Travel: Be willing to travel internationally for site visits and inspections, ensuring that design integrity and quality standards are upheld.
- Industry Trends: Stay current with the latest trends, materials, and technologies in interior design to bring fresh and innovative ideas to your projects.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to develop concept sketches into detailed 3D renderings. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and support staff.
- Reporting: Report directly to the Senior Architect, ensuring alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing work on hospitality and resort projects.
- Design Expertise: Demonstrated exquisite taste for interior design and attention to detail.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp or Rhino, Revit, real-time render tools (e.g., Enscape, D5, Lumion), and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Material Knowledge: Strong knowledge of high-end hospitality design materials, finishes, and furnishings.
- Graphic Design Skills: Exceptional graphic design skills are a significant advantage.
- Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is a significant plus.
