Representative James Clyburn, a key ally of President Biden, has emphatically endorsed Biden’s bid for re-election, stating that Biden has ‘earned the right’ to decide his political future. Clyburn, who played a pivotal role in Biden’s victory during the 2020 presidential primary, emphasized in a recent TV interview that discussions questioning Biden’s fitness to run should cease.
“Let Joe Biden continue to make his own decisions about his future,” Clyburn asserted, underscoring the administration’s accomplishments and the alternative options available within the Democratic Party.
Clyburn, recognized for his influence among Black voters—a crucial constituency, affirmed, “He’s earned that right. And I’m going to give him that much respect.”
Regarding Vice President Kamala Harris as a potential successor if Biden were to step aside, Clyburn confirmed his support, stating she would “absolutely” have his backing as the party’s candidate.
